Web-app launcher

The app launcher is a web page that allows you to install and run local web apps. All you need is a web browser (Chrome or Edge) to load, install, and run your apps.

  • Simple setup: no web server is required, you install your web apps as zip-files.
  • Security: your web app runs on the local system and is not exposed on-line.
  • Integration: you can install the launcher on your system and start it like any other program.
  • Lightweight: the launcher provides the boiler plate; your apps are small and start up quickly.
  • Off-line use: once the launcher has been installed, no Internet access is required to run web apps.
  • Secure context: web apps run with minimal restrictions and can use most web APIs.

Note: currently supported browsers on Windows and Mac are Chrome and Edge. Other browsers may work, but they have not been tested and are not supported.

Start your web browser and navigate to the launcher page:

From this page, you can directly install and run apps, but it is better to install the launcher as a local app on your computer, so you can access it like any other program. Follow the instructions on the launcher page for this.
